Movie: Disney's Mulan
Tools: Pencil, Pen, Colored Pencil, Photoshop CS3
I know...I'm a horrible updater. I've been working on this piece for a while but it's been on the back burner with work and everything going on in life. Mulan is one of my favorite Disney characters and movies. The scene where she decides to take her father's place is just amazing so I had to draw a part of it. I drew Mulan in pencil, traced her in pen and then colored her with colored pencils. Afterwards, I made a parchment background in Photoshop and blended in my all ready colored Mulan. I'm no expert on Chinese calligraphy but the two symbols I created were from a Mulan promotional poster and should spell her name. Please let me know if it's wrong so I can change and re-upload this piece. My whole concept was to get an ancient Chinese painting and ink feel, while still keeping Mulan in modern, Disney style. Any comments and critiques are welcome and help me improve for future works. Enjoy!
